LET’S HONOUR OUR WOMEN

Sir,

There are certain types of people who do not run away from their problems but instead they try by all means to find a solution no matter how tough life may turn out to be. And these are women.
It is true that women are always trying their best despite the many challenges that they face in life.

Women have huge roles including looking after their children from the time they are born.
That is not an easy task but most of them embrace it and even enjoy it and celebrate the fact that they are mothers. Most of the leaders that we have in society today were raised by their mothers due to different reasons.
We have women who work in textile factories because they want to ensure that they put food on the table for their children.

Because of that, I believe that women need to be appreciated, loved and celebrated every day and in every way because that is what they deserve. They play a role in life in general and become a shelter to children.
Women are known to be protectors who fight a silent prayer. They take on opponents in a big fight without being physical and for that they deserve the honour.
In our churches, you find them organising one another just for prayer gatherings.

You find women organising one another to form various schemes in order to generate income and ensure that their homes become better.
When they form these schemes and get together they obviously help in uplifting the communities which further helps in improving economic development. It is therefore sad that despite all the good things that they do, they are still treated badly in society.
It is sad that we still have people who still believe that the woman’s place is the kitchen yet we now live in an era where women are taking over in leadership positions and managing successful businesses.
It is high time we all embraced women as important figures and not just people whose task is to cook and wash, that time is over.

Let us value women because of the many struggles and challenges they go through.
Lastly, the women themselves should support one another so that the hard work that they put through can be recognised everywhere.
It is not good that while some of the work hard day and night, there are some women who are always trying to pull each other down.
If they continue to work together and give each other all the support, the world will be a better place.
