DEAR HUMANITY, WHERE ARE YOU?

Sir,

Thank you for allowing me pace in your widely read newspaper to raise a concern about something that has been bothering me for quite some time.
The dictionary defines Humanity as the human race, which includes everyone on Earth.

It is also a word for the qualities that make us human, such as the ability to love and have compassion, be creative, and not be a robot or alien. For better understanding, it refers to the kind feelings humans often have for each other.
I have noticed that killing someone is no longer a frightening deed for some people and it is getting worse with each passing day. Nowadays people hack one another to death over a simple matter and this makes me wonder if humanity is still there or not.

How should we live happy lives when our brothers and sisters are killed on a daily basis like it has become a hobby?
It is sad because this year we celebrated a big milestone in the form of the 50 years of Independence and I wonder if it was worth it.

How do we celebrate when we have lost precious lives because of killings? The Constitution of Eswatini recognises every person’s right to live but the way others kill them is a serious cause for concern. While we appreciate that the police are playing their part, it is obvious that there is a lot that still needs to be done if we want our country to be a safe place for all citizens.

It becomes sad when a family loses its breadwinner due to murder. This adds to the already many orphan who are struggling to survive. When are we going to stop killing and hurting each other? When is this beautiful country of ours going to become one where citizens would live peacefully and love one another? What has happened to our tag of being a country of peace?

For years we were known as one of the most peaceful nations not only in Africa but in the world but it is no longer the case. One wonders as to why especially looking at the fact that our country is small.
Honestly something needs to be done otherwise this country will be left with no one.
