OUR COUNTRY GETTING BETTER THAN YOU THINK

For some time now, I have made a very important observation.

The only way to make the population improve in aspects of public health, which is what I am mainly concerned about, is to start economic growth. In the past two months, I have been studying, observing and analysing data from the UN and WHO, thus making some very intriguing discoveries about the world at large. I would like to particularly focus on our country today. The child mortality rate has only been decreasing, in fact, there is no country with child mortality rates increasing as we speak and this tells me a lot of good news. In my latest data up to 2011, 83 EmaSwati children less than five years died in 1 000 live births, I  don’t have any data from 2012 up until now but I am very confident that the number keeps on lessening.

Earlier, I mentioned the fact that the dwindling numbers tell me a good story. As the child mortality rates drop, to me, it means that parents were able to protect their children through access to primary health care. The parents of these children can read and write, they are aware of what is going on around them. The statistic of 80 per cent of babies getting vaccinated around the world covers them. For the baby to live that long also tells us that these people are having access to clean drinking water, so as you can see, one statistics have measured the quality of the whole society. The idea that there is still a gap between ‘poor developing countries’ and ‘rich developed countries’ is a thing of the past. The chances of a woman giving birth to lose their child before the age of five years is lessening each and every year in Eswatini. As this number lessens, remember my reflection of the good news and how they are getting better as this statistics improve.

We are gradually catching up with all the countries ahead of most African countries and Eswatini is part of the race. I have a lot to say that would enlighten my fellow citizens, and all will be said gradually over time. Believe it or not, our country is getting better; the numbers from verified organisations tell me so.
