OPEN LETTER TO ACTING PS OF MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

I had hoped to write this letter to you upon your confirmation as PS of the Ministry of Education and Training but the situation has forced me otherwise. William Pitcher Teachers Training College has become a war zone and I thought of no better mediator other than you.

Everyday students have to evade attacks from the administration. The man who holds the office of the Dean of Students Affairs is not fit to hold that office and should be removed with immediate effect.
He is law unto himself and does as he pleases with students’ issues. The fact that he is a lecturer and the Dean of Student Affairs is even worse.
The man is no ‘Dean of Student sAffairs’ but rather a Dean of Administration Affairs. Inyandzaleyo make, we need a new dean.

Just the other day, he suspended SRC members without authorisation from the students and he constantly hides when students need him.
He is not a worthy bridge between the students and administration. He is an instigator of trouble between the two factions; the students’ body and administration.
In fact all the troubles between the college administration and the students are caused by him.

Please madam send us an independent dean, a person of integrity and character.
I am in no way trying to harm or insult him as an individual, but he has failed dismally in that office. He yields too much power which he conferred upon himself and the administration is quiet.

Madam we pray your office could send us or talk to whoever is responsible and send us an independent dean and not a lecturer who will fight personal battles and classroom battles under the guise of student affairs.
He hinders all plans and progress of the students’ body, he wants to be supreme and the sole decision-maker on students issues.

Lance Stark
