RUN YOUR MOUTH, BE POLITICAL NOW

After reading the September 15 Just Thinking piece (which was spot on by the way) I need to correct this quisling tendency of Swazis to proclaim they don’t talk politics or are not political at all.

Talking about things that affect you is not being political, it’s life. Politics is the injustice because of the conditions you experience which force you to express your outrage. The only ones being political is the status quo, which causes such indignation. How can you lose a debate against such people if they want to point a finger at you?

Let Swaziland, or just Africa as a whole, work for all her ‘sons and daughters’ regardless of their last names, tribe, clan, connections, religious persuasion, age, pigmentism, they so belong. The primitive times of gagging ones-self because of fear of our own shadows is over. What guarantees a nation’s or a people’s survival ability is that country’s economic strength.

So in other words, it’s okay to run your mouth against ‘any leader’ who errs, making sure not all her citizenry lives up to their true potential, since you can’t run yourself and fix the problem if you are capable thanks to the system you have there in Swaziland. Governments are spending US$700 billion on swords of war for a reason, they want to survive at our expense, so run your mouth - or be political now.
Not while in your grave, thank you.
