SOMEONE IS IN CONTROL!

Sir,

Have you ever read the newspaper or watched the news and wondered who really is in control of this world. We have witnessed leaders coming and going; with some leaders spitting venom of war and destruction to make themselves seem powerful and in control. Others try to take over lesser nations so they can have more territory to claim for themselves

On a personal level, are you happy? What do you do for a living? Do you enjoy your vocation? Are you completely satisfied with your job? What about your marriage or family, is everything going on well? In such instances it is natural for a human heart to ask where God is when things are not going on well. But thanks be to God for the book of Revelation. There is someone who is on the throne; He is watching over everything. He is in control.
In Chapter 4 of the book of Revelation we are given a glimpse of the throne of God. “After these things I looked, and behold, a door was open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said ‘Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.’”

John writes in Chapter 4 verse 2; “Immediately I was in the spirit; and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sitting on the throne.” The word ‘throne’ is mentioned 12 times in this one chapter. Yet, it is only used a total of 14 times in the other 26 books of the New Testament. That is why this chapter has been called ‘the throne chapter of the Bible’.

We may not understand everything that is happening around us but one thing is for sure; there is someone on the throne. God is on the throne and he is in control. As we see our world falling apart around us we must all be reminded that God is doing something. He has not resigned; He has not been impeached, nor put out of office. There are no term limits to His being God; He is in control!

No matter what may seem out of control in your life, know that God is still in control. His Sovereign throne controls all the events in your life. Though evil reigns for a time on earth, God will ultimately prevail. There is no attribute more comforting to God’s children than His sovereignty. Whatever your trial, whatever your test, whatever your tragedy, God is still on His throne. Whenever the going gets tough look up to Him, He is in complete control.
