DON’T YOU DARE GO DOWN!

Athletes compete in a race and just like them we are all in one. We run in different tracks but with one goal in mind, success.

We differ at times according to the different inputs we contribute; some of us are participants, spectators and some end up being champions.
What does that mean? In life there are people who are participants, who are there to accompany others. Then we have spectators, who are just there to cheer, howl and criticise others. Lastly we have champions who happen to go all the way to be the first and best in the competition in spite of all prevailing obstacles.

I would love to elaborate more on the latter group which happens to be the champions. Champions are envied by most of those who participate or even spectators. The participants and spectators are there to try and pull the champion down.
Champions are warriors; they fight for what they want even with a high level of opposition, which never deters them from achieving their goals. To further elaborate on this I will base my discussion on a story of man called Nehemiah in the Bible (Nehemiah 6). Nehemiah had tough opposition from Sanballat, Tobiah and Geshem for rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem.

They both had a plan to kill Nehemiah, they tried to invite him to Ono but Nehemiah told them that he had no reason to go to Ono as he had great work to do.
Our life is surrounded by Sanballats and Tobiahs who are against our vision to succeed. In most cases these people are usually very close to us; they may be relatives, friends and colleagues.
Usually the people who want to harm you are like wolves in sheep skin. They may seem helpful and nice yet they are hiding poison within the cream. They criticise you behind your back and try to discourage you, but don’t go down.
They say ‘only tall trees have evidence of strong winds, short ones never even hear rumours. The greater the anointing on you the greater is the devil’s annoyance’.
