GOD SAVED SD FROM CYLONE

Sir,

The world has, for many centuries, been affected by natural disasters where many lives were lost.

In our own Southern Africa region, we have had to endure the pain of watching our fellow Africans die and have their homes destroyed by Cyclone Dineo which occurred just a few months ago. It has come and gone but for the citizens in the region it has left them with scars that they have had to lick and will remember for many years to come.

Obviously, such disasters do not strike with the same intensity in the different countries which is why Mozambique was affected more than Swaziland and there are a lot of reasons for that. For those who do not know, the country of Mozambique suffered the most due to the fact that the Cyclone Dineo built up from the Indian Ocean and later moved through to the Madagascar channel where it gained strength to hit the mainland on its way to our own beautiful country.

Now, have you asked yourself why Swaziland survived the cyclone? In the past there were many cyclones that moved the same direction and fortunately we were spared as we got only heavy rains instead of the strong winds that moved at about 200 kilometers per hour.

Surviving the strong winds was a blessing for our country because it causes destruction as it uproots trees, destroys homes and maize fields and further bring down bridges while dams can even burst if not properly monitored thus killing people in the process.

When there is too much rain it leads to water not being clean which can cause diseases for the people and animals. I am not judging any country but I would like to say it that the reason Swaziland survives is because God loves this country and protects it all the time.
I therefore plead with all Swazis to remember that this is a Christian nation and that in times of trouble like cyclones we should engage in fasting and prayer and never stop. In that way, God will save us and our small population.

PS
Manzini
