GOVT EXAGGERATING ON ‘MIRACLE PASTORS’

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

I am deeply concerned with the drastic measures the Honourable Minister of Home Affairs has taken with regard to the uncommon miracles we see these days from the so called ‘miracle pastors’.

We are not fighting against flesh and blood but we are fighting against the rulers and the principalities of the world.
This is a spiritual warfare. This country has already lost it if we think this battle can be fought physically by the involvement of chiefs and police.
To me this issue deserves no attention. I see some of these pastors as attention seekers- they just want popularity. I’m afraid the minister has overlooked a lot of issues before she came to this decision.

Who will report such uncommon miracles to the chiefs and police? I doubt the congregants can do this because they are convinced that such miracles are from God. They see nothing wrong with drinking petrol and eating snakes.

They even testify about this. To them it is a form of spiritual upgrading. To some of us who do not attend such churches, I think we have no time of reporting petty issues to the police. We have more serious matters to do.

Judge not so that you won’t be judged. And if these ‘miracle pastors” operate through evil forces, why can’t the other pastors deliver them? Are the angels of darkness now more powerful than the angels of light?

I know the minister as a Christian. The first thing she should have done at least should have been to call Swazis to a national prayer, to pray against any evil spiritual forces tormenting this country.

Other people may take this as being jealous. Simply because you can’t perform a miracle doesn’t mean all pastors can’t. We all have different gifts.
The minister has to convince us that these uncommon miracles being performed are a danger to public safety, defence, public order, morality and public health. If pastors don’t force their congregants to undergo such miracles, I don’t think we should be concerned. We are told the petrol they drink turns into fruit juice and the grass into macaroni.

This shows that the petrol they drink is not poisonous because it then turns into edible and useful fruit. I don’t think it is a health hazard to those who drink it. The minister has to assist us by providing medical evidence.

Be that as it may, I wonder why churchgoers are easily fooled by people who pose as ‘man of God’. A Nigerian pastor impregnated female members of his church. He would tell them that God has prophesied that he should sleep with them so that they can be in a position to receive a breakthrough. Another pastor in the USA had his female congregants milk his private parts until ‘God pours holy milk in their mouth.’

This also applies to some tinyanga. They would say to barren women “kumele ngilale nawe kuze ngitovula lesibeletfo sakho”. Out of ignorance, some barren women consent to this.
All these are false prophets. We cannot fight them by reporting them to the police. We need to humble ourselves, seek the face of God and pray to Him to heal our land.

It is not the minister’s duty to enquire where those pastors get such powers. Let’s assume they get them from Lucifer.
Then what? We have freedom of religion and worship. This extends to worshipping Lucifer. We need to conduct a self-introspection on this subject and start embracing devil worshippers as a recognised religion in Swaziland. I hope people have been following what Babe Nhlavana had been saying concerning our pastors.

It is highly concerning that when it comes to insignificant local issues of non concequence the Ministry of Home Affairs is effective when there are serious issues such as the recognition of our diplomatic passports by neighbouring South Africa which the Minister has dismally failed to come up with an intervention. This is worrying to say the least and says a lot about the quality of people currently occupying our cabinet if they cant even negotiate respect of diplomatic passports.
