REPRESENT THE PEOPLE WITH RESPECT NOT FEAR

Sir,

Allow me a space in your widely read newspaper to comment on this issue. Everyday has become a challenge in our lives.
I am not going to lie, I hope God gives me the strength to stay strong.

Everything must change, nothing stays forever in life.
Only the man above knows where we went wrong as a people. Please always remember the people who put their trust in you and serve them without fear or favour.
The country faces so many challenges such as HIV, hunger, different forms of abuse, dropping out of school, lack of employment and sexual abuse.

We never ever vote for empty promises or popularity or someone who can perform for us. In our true culture, respect for ourselves and for other people is the first priority.
This is why our MPs must lead with dignity and honour. They must respect voters even if they are not educated or live in stick and mud houses.
They are theirs because of them.

Failure is part of life but there is no need to give up. ‘You must fix it’.
We have a constitution in this country that needs to be respected at all times. I remember some good words once said by our former minister of health, he said even those with degrees have also failed.
He was not lying.

He was thinking when he woke up everyday, what he is going to do in the Parliament for people and the country.
Is this the independence our forefathers fought for?

Will they look at us and be proud? What about King Sobhuza II, would he be proud?
I am a believer of the Constitution and I believe that what the Constitution says must come to pass.
Our MPs must conduct an introspection, to find out where they have gone wrong.

Today people care more about their positions than the people they represent.
Tata Madiba is one of the few men who sacrificed his life for the liberation of the black people in South Africa. People like him are few. A majority of Swazis in this country are suffering.
These are the challenges we are facing, the challenges which need strong leaders.
