CHURCH LEADERS AFTER MONEY, SEX

Sir,

I really do not know what influenced Satan to rebel against God. Could it be that some pre-Satanic evil existed? No.

From my previous citation in John 8:44 Jesus says evil is a resource of satan and he invented it (He is the father of it).
In an attempt to avoid religion, I also asked God why He gave satan so much power. Again, the more I read what God says about Himself, the more the truth dawned.

Scriptures written by the prophets Isaiah and Ezekiel give us hints that satan was a very powerful angelic being and unto him great power was delegated by God. This is also confirmed by some New Testament scriptures.
In view of this fact, I asked myself why God did not strip Lucifer of his powers when he cast him down to earth so as to make him of no influence to mankind.

The apostle Paul mentions this evil agent as someone with crafty devices, lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices” 2 Corinthians 2:11.

oppressed

Let us relate to what he says a few chapters ahead to the very same church which was apparently oppressed by Satan.
“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age have blinded, who do not believe” 2 Corinthians 4:3 and 4. In Ephesians 2:2 he says: “and you he (Jesus) made alive who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked, according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lust of our flesh.”

Paul calls him the prince of the powers of the air (invisible) as well as the god of this age. Hastily moving forward, we learn more about the powers of Satan in Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” Ephesians 6:12.
I continued to search for answers. One scripture was enough to ease my confusion. Had God stripped satan of his heavenly powers, he would have violated his Word which clearly states that he does not reverse his gifts and calling.” For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable” Romans 11:29.
