Ephalamende akusiko ekhaya lemunftu - Queen Shongwe

Dear voter, thank you for registering for the 2013 national elections. The primary elections will be held today.
Exercise your right - vote! Mkhulu was impressed when he received this message.

Big up to the EBC team for this new strategy, this will help people to value their input in as far as voting is concerned.
Mkhulu vele uyovota because I want to see my country reach First World status by voting for the right person.
I also commend the EBC for the talk show on radio every Wednesday at 8am. In the show this week they discussed a number of issues related to the voting process.

Listeners were advised to vote for the right candidates and further urged not to send others to vote for them.
I also like the advice they shared about aspiring MPs, Chief Gija urged them to stop campaigning because it’s not the right time.

Campaign

He said people should campaign after the primary elections. This was after staunch whyless listener Queen Shongwe, who is among the candidates for aspiring MP, phoned in.
She emphasised that Swazis should vote for people who have good integrity.
She further said “iphala-mende akusiko ekhaya lemu-nftu,Vele akungene labanye, kukhetfwe banftu labacofto” ...hamba Queen.
I just wonder if Queen can be an MP? I think somehow she can be a good one ngingati because they say money has its own tricks nje. I like her, she reminds me of what King Sobhuza II said in 1973 about intelligence.

He was warning Swazis on judging a person’s wisdom.
He said “niyabona nibomlalela umunftu lodlile ngoba kukhona lokuhle lakushoko. Laba labahlakaniphile angeke baku-bonekuhlakanipha kwabo ngoba bayathula nje, ehhe bagcine bangakavakali kani lona lokhulumako kukhona lokuhle lakushoko”.
So when you vote you are speaking on how this country should be governed but when you boycott elections you are worse than the most slow learner.

‘Somlandela’ is on point but...

Listening to Nonhlanhla ‘Ezimnanderi’ Ginindza on Monday evening on SBIS1 mkhulu was impressed.
What with the few updates with upcoming trending events in SD these days she mentioned Umhlanga, the Swazi Trade Fair and the big one today is electing our indvunas and MPs.

To note though is that some of the listeners are missing out big time as Make Mngometulu decried the blackout of SBIS1 during the day while other listeners from Mpolonjeni and Man-kayane shared the same sentiments.
‘Ezimnanderi’ tried to urge listeners to try different frequencies to ascertain if there was really dead-air. I should say it was a big issue as listeners continued to complain throughout the week.

I hope SBIS management is doing everything to normalise the situation. Cha eMankayane Edudusini kusavakala kahle impela.
Back to ‘Somlandela’ as listeners sometimes tease her, she has upped her game in as far as small talk is concerned and sharing few jokes with listeners.

What I am worried about is her playlist, its kinda like the same songs I have known her playing six months ago.
Another culprit is Magalela Mtjali, he plays the same songs he used to play years back, the Mbacanga, same RnB. It’s time to make the circle bigger.

Tase Africa still rocks my world

Seriously mkhulu has been a big fan of TaseAfrica which airs at 8am hosted by Veli ‘Shortgun’ Simelane.
Veli last Friday had a guest from Mozambique (I am afraid I can’t try to pronounce or spell his name) and I was impressed because the show was live. They played various types of African tracks among them were Raymond Nyatsi and Oliver Mtukutsi.
I also enjoyed the programme because of their small talk. After every song they engaged in small talk in which they discussed topical issues.
They touched on age dilvusion and people who do not go home after they got greener pastures.

Is Nkonotja back?

Sunday on the graveyard slot Siphesihle ‘Sihlabani’ Nxumalo hosted Donard ‘Nkonotja’ Zwane.
It was nice hearing him after a long time. Phela sale ubuya kwasho ingoma yeNcandweni Christ Ambassadors.
Speaking of the graveyard slot I am tempted to focus on ‘Sihlabani’s shiftmate Sipho ‘Madlenya’ Gamedze.

‘Madlenya’ mfana wami yati angisakuva. Lately when you speak, you are barely audible, uyashwampuluta awuvakali.
Try to take it easy and speak slowly so I can hear the message you are trying to convey.
Still on ‘Madlenya’ he was back to his old habits of cutting listeners while they are sending their dedications on air.
He sometimes plays a song while you are talking to him. That’s not cool boy, do the right thing.

White Hippo has to revisit the dam

I like the ever bubbly Gcebile ‘Whitehippo’ Mvumbu/Sho-ngwe.
Her playlist and small talk are up to date. She has a good sense of humour more like ‘JT’ that is Sandton Maber.
She made me smile the other day when she told us that she was of the view that the EBC message was only sent to her. Nami that is what I thought mtukulu had sent me.

Anyway I am concerned here ‘Whitehippo’, firstly why it is that always on Saturdays or Fridays you change shifts with JT?
Secondly have you considered my recommendation on the programme Country and Western music.

I had thought since you are young, wild and free you will revive Country and  Western music, play old and new school country music.
I had thought she would also profile artists and update us about country musicians. Adios!!!
