Albinos are human beings too!
In the recent past, there has been an outcry over the killings of the human species known as albinos.
The reason for these widespread killings of albinos comes from the lame belief that their body parts are either a source of wealth or used for the extension of one’s life expectancy.
An act which began in harness in Tanzania has now spread to almost every country in Africa. The Tanzanians, best known for their witchcraft powers, especially among the Wasukuma and the Sambawanga tribe, developed a belief that these special human beings with white-skin, among the black population, has some unique omen that if used could make one rich or live longer.
As to whether this is true or not, only God knows.
Biologically
To our common understanding, albinos are like any other human being - born biologically like others who are black, who would live and die just like any other person. If it is the pink colour (lack of melanin) that makes them unique, then these magicians should have also targeted those with pink coloured skin from the West for that special ‘blessing’ found in albinos. The news that a Kenyan was arrested and jailed in Tanzania for attempting to sell an albino man after tricking him that he was going to give him a job as a driver in Mwanza, Tanzania, is disturbing and you wonder what has gone wrong with our generation? One would like to applaud the Tanzanian police, but I feel the man should have been locked in for life.
Recently
Closer to home, a shocking story of a young innocent girl, who just found herself born in that gene, was recently abducted, dragged away from her friends and shot dead. To worsen matters, her head was brutally chopped off her body in broad daylight; It is a shock! To the 20 children who watched helplessly as their mate who had offended nobody, what a trauma? To the mother of this young girl who got pregnant for nine months carrying the child in her womb, not knowing that she was carrying a special child and having looked after her for 11 years - we are all sorry! To the poor father who had not wronged any neighbour or the general society - we sympathise with you and also ask ourselves why this young innocent human being should be a sacrificial lamb.
To the killers of these innocent souls - may the God of Jacob deal with you and may your house have no inhabitants and finally to the 11-year-old soul, may God remember your innocence at the time of his coming; may your innocent soul rest in peace – Amen!
Words are not enough to express the sorrow and the experience this innocent soul went through in her last 11 minutes. God said to Cain, "your brother’s blood is crying on you"; therefore, may the blood of this innocent soul cry over the killer and eventually to the user of her skull. If, by chance, the law gets hold of this monster, he should face the death penalty. Such monsters should not be allowed to live among the people. There should be an understanding among the African states, in terms of security, so that such a man should not have a place to live in any country in the continent.
It seems like our laws are very ‘soft’ on such criminals i.e. if analysed against the words of the magistrate who sentenced the principal/pastor who abused his son in the mountains. What is one year in jail compared to the pain the young boy is undergoing and the psychological torture there after? To stop this act of hooliganism the sponsor of this terrorism act against humanity must be captured and his empire destroyed. He is worse than Osama Bin Laden.
Young
Who knows, they might later opt for other young boys and girls, so the sooner we get rid of them the better. How long are we going to watch our subjects being terrorised by these monsters when we have the means to deal with them?
There must be someone out there who knows the sponsors of this modern terrorism on our albino brothers and sisters. We should come up and help the police locate these people because even if you refuse to divulge the information tomorrow it might be your own relative who will fall the victim of this circumstance. Please fellow citizens come up with the correct information to help our police tackle this menace.
