Jazi' likes iT live, so does your GOGO
I greet you all in the name of the WHYLESS. I hope everyone is good including Sanele ‘Mkhulu Wannabe’ Jele.
I am still waiting for a proper response on his writing the column. Thanks.
Getting down to business of the day, the live call-in programme that was aired between 11-midnight and was abruptly stopped last year after a caller harassed one of the female announcers is now back. It was known as ‘STIMELA’.
However just like the many programmes we get to listen to on the WHYLESS, the live call-in is now recorded.
Let’s get started
n Still riding on Stimela, Gogo has found Nonhlanhla ‘Ezimnanderi’ Dlamini’s conduct during the call-in intimidating especially to the males.
n Instead of focusing on the job at hand, she is now on an investigation mission. The other night one caller had to explain himself to ‘Ezimnanderi’ as she seemed not to recognise his voice. The caller had to explain himself to ‘Ezimnanderi’ until her memory served her well. Gogo would like to warn males to be wary when about to ride Stimela,
n Mbekezeli ‘Batsatse’ Mabilisa who also happens to host the Stimela show was at his best this week. No dead air, no weird sounds but in stead great music. Thanks for the World Cup match updates and for bouncing back, I feared for the worse. Can you also please allow us to ride the Stimela during your show.
n Mbuso ‘Do it again’ Ntshingila did it again this week. When he hosted Correctional Service Luke Malindzisa, he asked him whether they have already provided the inmates with blankets for the winter season. How late!
n ‘Do it again’ also wondered whether the TVs have now been installed in all the prisons. He also expressed his joy that David Simelane was now watching the World Cup matches. Last time he asked about the food especially the breakfast.
n I wouldn’t be surprise to hear him tell us that he is hosting the show live from prison or plays a recorded show from there. I liked the music you played, the traffic updates and the much improved interviews. Do it again.
n Sipho ‘Mnumzane’ Gamedze is slowly gelling at the expense of Nkhosingiphile ‘Ayoba’ Mbhamali. I liked it when you played music and dedicated it to the pensioners.
n Do not forget to remind other callers about the name request that was made by one caller. Before I forget, cut down on the gospel because you remind me of ‘Ayoba’.
n Thank you Moses ‘Triple M’ Matsebula, for explaining why songs are abruptly ended. I like the name ‘mega- mix’ but most of you do it wrongly and now I have grown to hate it. Why not leave it for the DJs on Friday and Saturday nights.
n My girl Lindelwa ‘LD’ Mafa continued to bless my soul in the mornings. Thursday was her best day according to her. She did not want to explain why. Her actions made Gogo angry especially after telling us that she is still feeling it.
n Gogo does not feel you. I will tell my granddaughter to bring you her recorded album so that you play it as per your promise to promote local talent and urging listeners to bring them in. I liked the song by R KELLY of being the second best. Please play it again.
n Nathi ‘Prof’ Hlophe’s topics just make me smile. The other day he wanted advice from listeners on how to get married the Swazi way. Do you want to have your own life time partner? This reminded me of your favourite song by Zola 7 ‘ Awuthenge lakho bhodlela’. Thank you for restricting the wake-up calls to three per caller.
n Wilton ‘JaziH3’ Mamba did the unthinkable this week when he hosted two shows in two studios live. Yes he was running around siSwati and English Channel studios.
n In the siSwati channel he was hosting a live Reggae programme with a guest by the name of ‘Raskoki’. Great programme, with knowledgeable guests and just the answers I needed when it comes to the liked Rastafarians life.
n In the English channel, ‘JaziH3’ was again live. I liked his live concept when it comes to hosting programmes but then he needs to plan. Imagine hearing ‘Jazih3’ puffing at the siSwati studio at 9:20pm and huffing in the English channel at 9:35pm. By the way ‘Jazih3’ did that for the whole hour of 9-10pm. He was rescued by the recorded show hosted by another announcer aired in the English channel at 10pm.
n However he forgot to inform us it was recorded. Thanks for the World Cup analysis after having watched the games from your Supersport channels as you have been telling us. By the way I still enjoy your choice of music.
n Sithembile ‘Supaphly’ Vilane, now that you have explained how the game is played, how about giving us your analytical view after the matches like ‘JaziH3’ or is that asking too much?
n Speaking of two studios, the station resident coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati during the World Cup matches also gives analysis on both the English and siSwati channels. If you miss him during the Sport in 15 minutes programme catch him ‘Kuletishisako’ 15 seconds later. Thanks to Mfundo ‘Sportsman’ Khumalo.
n Thembi ‘Billy Jean’ Hlophe again pleased my soul with her jazz session. I liked the battle of the guests. The gentlemen know their African songs and please bring more gentlemen with such music knowledge. I still love you.
n I should say the news reading is improving in both channels. Veli ‘Kofi’ Simelane also took time to test his English reading skills. Is it because of the competition from Zanele ‘Zuzu’ Nxumalo and Ntombi ‘R&B’ Nkambule?
n It was also great to hear Ray ‘Boom Boom’ Dlamini voice’s between 3-8pm the other night. He still knows his music. Should I call him Doctor Ray for his impressive interviews with the doctors? Please bring along a female doctor for our health issues next time.
n To all the announcers, thanks for explaining this week’s dead air which was honestly caused by technical problems. Please remember to tell us if a particular programme is recorded or live. I hate repeated repeats.
