MBABANE – South Africa’s leading mbhacanga music, Phuzekhemisi, Ray Phiri, David Masondo of Soul Brothers and Mfaniseni Ngubane will be the main attraction during the first Swaziland Music and Artists in Swaziland (SWAMA) Music Festival.

The artists will share the stage during the festival scheduled for September 27 at Mhlume Sports Ground.
Performing along the South African artists will be over 11 local artists who happen to be SWAMA members.

These artists include Diba Diba, Duma Namankonyane, Floewe, Fanaza, Qibho and Sands, Exotic, Mshikishi, Make Simelane, MJ Boys, Nomsa M and Teddy Bears Dancers.
The show was unveiled by Lutfo Dlamini, SWAMA President, during a press conference held on Friday at the La Casserole Restaurant.
Dlamini said artists have always been longing for the time when they would be given a platform to showcase their talent.

Platform

He said as an executive, they decided to create such a platform whereby artists would come together and feel the joy of performing in front of their fans.
“Everything has been finalised. We are going to Mhlume on September 27. We expect everyone who likes music and is a fan of the artists that would be performing to make sure that they attend without fail,” he said.
Dlamini said they are trying to ensure the artists are active throughout the year and it is for that reason taht they decided to create such a platform for the artists.

“We are aware that artists always want to be active and always want to be on stage. We are trying by all means to bring that kind of scenario.  We want to make sure that artists benefit for being our members,” he said.
Dlamini encouraged all artists to register as they stand to benefit a lot of things as members of the association.

“Forms are already available on our website. They can also be obtained from the executive members. Artists will not regret why they opted to be members of the association,” Dlamini said.
The all-night show will cost E70 and starts at 6pm.
