NOMALUNGELO’S REMIX ON MTV AFRICA BASE CHARTS

MBABANE – Local songstress Nomalungelo Dladla has taken the South African club charts by storm, being number 12 on the MTV Africa Base list.

Nomalungelo’s latest remix of her hit track ‘Imiyalo’ seems to have put her on the SA music map , as on Tuesday night the song debuted for the first time on MTV’s Official African chart list .

The programme hosted by Nomuzi Mabena is a compilation of the top 20 tracks currently making waves on the SA music circuit.
Speaking on the track, Nomuzi with South African musician Amu who was a guest on the show, praised the young Swazi singer for her brave transition from African soul to house.

Message

“Not many artists take that leap of faith to actually turn a song with a message as ‘Imiyalo’ and totally turn it around into a dance track.This risk worked for her as she is heating up all the clubs in Johannesburg,” commented the host Nomuzi.
 Amu hinted that the young Nomalungelo was in studio putting the finishing touches on her new album, which will feature legendary afro soul singer Ringo Madlingozi.

Nomalungelo shot the video earlier this year for her remix ‘Imiyalo’ at Club Taboo in Sandton and since then it has aired in radio stations all over South Africa including Metro FM , YFM and Ligwalagwala FM .

Packaged

The remixed single has been repackaged as a house single and will soon be available as a packaged hard copy in music outlets.
Worth noting is that MTV Base’s Africa Chart only features artists that have hit tracks on radio and the club scene in South Africa.
Making Nomalungelo’s achievement a great one as far as local artists are concerned as the chart is dominated by SA and Nigerian musicians.
