SITHEMBISO AND BUHLEBETHU CROWNED MR AND MISS UNISWA

KWALUSENI – Sithembiso Ginindza and Buhlebethu Nyamane and are Mr and Miss UNISWA 2014/2015 respectively.
The duo was crowned on Friday night. They won the crowns from a tight competition where other 22 contestants gave a spirited showing in front the watchful eyes of the judges.


The panel of judges included former Miss Swaziland finalist Andile Silenge, Koko Shabangu and Meluleki Simelane.
The trio had a tough evening as the contestants who comprised of, among others, the winners of the Freshers’ Balls from the three campuses and other finalists. Notable though was the absence of the Kwaluseni Mr and Miss Freshers Nokwanda Masuku and Mfanelo Dlamini who had promised to be part of the finals.


The event started with the contestants doing a dance in casual wear before they paraded in evening outfits. In that regard they did the parading ,both individually and in couples. The male contestants also showed off their muscles as they paraded with their boxer shorts, much to the excitement of the audience.
As in the other finals, the contestants were choreographed by former Miss SD Ayanda Dube who was busy on the night making sure that everything was on point.
“This is my new passion. I am enjoying it and I am very impressed by the commitment showed by the contestants and I am humbled to get the opportunity to work with them,” said Dube.


Expressed


The winners expressed their joy at being crowned King and Queen and they sounded confident to represent the institution well in the upcoming Mr and Miss Intervarsity set for next Monday.
“This is a great feeling and I am so excited about it but credit goes to my colleagues and friends for their support and confidence they showed in me. I am looking forward to give my best in the Intervarsity finals,” said Ginindza.
UNISWA’s Internal Affairs Minister Bonkhe Shabangu felt the event was a success.


“I think the show was great and thanks to the students and the public that attended as you saw that the hall was packed to capacity,” said Shabangu.
He also appealed to the students and the nation at large to come in numbers for the Intervarsity games set to start on Friday. He also thanked Millennium Trends for dressing up the contestants.
SBPA’s Tony Dlamini also graced the event and helped a lot with the wearing of the traditional gear by the female contestants.
