MBABANE – South African house music giants Uhuru, Oskido, Heavy K and Black Motion, are some of the top acts for the BOLESWA Intervarsity games.
The list is completed by female acts including Busiswa of ‘Ngokhu’ fame, Thembi and Nokwazi.

The much anticipated annual games are hosted by the three universities interchangeably hence 2014 will be the chance for UNISWA to stage the showpiece. The event is set to take place on March 8 at the Mavuso Trade Centre.
Kalawa Jazzme artists’ Manager Arthur Scotch Mathenga said they have met with the representatives of the Swazi students on Tuesday to finalise the list of the artists to perform during the Intervarsity games and they have reached an agreement.

“The said artists will be performing at these games even though we are still awaiting payment as the week progresses, but all the logistics were discussed during our meeting on Tuesday,” said Scotch.
He also said the Swazi representatives also wanted to have Professor for their shows but unfortunately they couldn’t since the popular ‘Jezebel’ artist is booked for shows which coincide with the dates of the games.

Mathenga also stated that he was hoping to be part of the Intervarsity shows so as to make time for the Swazi media in an effort to improve their working relationship.
UNISWA’s Internal Affairs Minister Bonkhe Shabangu confirmed the meeting they had with Kalawa to secure the services of the artists to perform during the games.
“The correct list is the one that you got from Scotch since I am aware that you called him after our meeting. But you can add Black Motion as we will have them as well, the problem is that they are not managed by Mathenga,” said Shabangu.

Shabangu also stated that South African spinner Mono-T will no longer be coming for the Mr/Miss UNISWA finals set to take place next week Friday.
“We had an unfortunate situation with our budget as it needed to be stretched to accommodate Mono-T hence the cancellation,” he explained.
Shabangu also stated that they were currently working on the fees for the entry tickets for the shows.

The Intervarsity games will crown a month-long hosting of the Fresher’s Balls from the three campuses as the winners will battle it out on the Mr/Miss UNISWA finals.
Mr/Miss UNISWA will represent the institution in the Mr/Miss Intervarsity finals whereby contestants from the other universities will also compete.
