Producer, artist ‘S-tone’ in horrific accident

MANZINI - Producer and artist, Sifiso ‘S-Tone’ Magagula was involved in a horrific car accident which occurred on Sunday at Moneni.


His vehicle, a Kia Picanto was being driven by a female unlicensed driver, Nokwazi Dlamini (27),of Tshaneni who also was under the influence of alcohol. The vehicle is seriously damaged on the left side, where the artist was seated as a passenger. Its windscreen and rear front is also extensively damaged due to the accident which left him seriously injured on the head and right arm.


The artist (35) of Mliba was also arrested by the police for permitting an unlicensed driver to drive his vehicle knowing well she did not possess a driver’s licence.


However, he failed to make an appearance in court instead when his name was called, his brother Dodo Magagula led by a police officer told the court that the suspect was seriously injured and admitted at Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital (RFM).
Senior Public Prosecutor, Sandile Mdluli spoke on his behalf, and this was after Dodo had informed the RSP court orderly about the unavailability of his brother.

On the other hand, Nokwazi Dlamini, a film and television student at Limkokwing University apologised for committing the offences and said it was not her intention to drive while under the influence of alcohol. The alcohol content in her system was 0.50 milligrams/litre when the legal limit stands at 0.38 milligrams/litre.


The suspect faced three charges, she drove the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, Dlamini also drove negligently and knocked another vehicle, a Toyota sedan driven by Bongani Tfombela of Ngwane Park.

She is said to have failed to give a right of way and take a proper lookout, Dlamini also failed to apply brakes on time to avoid the accident which a reasonable driver would have avoided. She was also charged with driving the vehicle while unlicensed, however, she pleaded not guilty to the offence and produced her learner’s licence.
