MANZINI – South African musician Andile KaMajola shocked journalists and guests when he failed to pitch for his own media launch on Friday.

KaMajola had invited the media together with a few guests to the launch of his sixth album titled ‘Ujehova Ungibiyele’.
The venue was well prepared for the event with guests who included former Minister Macford Sibandze and Swaziland National Arts and Culture CEO Stanley Dlamini.

By 7pm, most guests had arrived but KaMajola was nowhere to be seen.
Local gospel artist Mzwakhe Myeni who had been asked to help in preparing the launch pleaded with the guests to be patient saying KaMajola was on his way.

In the meantime the programme continued as Myeni and his wife Khanysile entertained the guests with music.
It was just after 9pm when Myeni informed the guests that KaMajola’s car broke down at Siphofaneni on his way to Manzini.
To make sure that the guests believed what he was saying, Myeni called KaMajola on his mobile phone while on stage as he wanted the guests to be clear that KaMajola was on his way to the launch.

Despite that the main man had not arrived, Myeni called upon the speakers of the night to the stage and these included representatives from media houses such as the Swaziland Broadcasting and Information Services and Voice of the Church (VOC).
Moses Matsebula, who spoke on behalf of SBIS, said he would have wished to deliver his speech in front of KaMajola.

“It is a pity that the artist who has invited us is not present. I wanted to tell him that we appreciate the fact that he had decided to have his music promoted locally. We promise that we will play the music and we believe the listeners will also be blessed,” Matsebula said. By 10pm, KaMajola had not arrived and Myeni apologised on his behalf.

... is grateful to Mzwakhe who co-produced the album

MANZINI – Pastor Andile KaMajola has featured former Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors member Mzwakhe Myeni in his album.

Myeni also co-produced the 16-track album titled ‘Ujehova Ungibiyele (Chapter six)’.
The songs in which Myeni features include ‘U-Jehova Ungibiyele’, ‘By Faith’, ‘Entabeni KaJehova’, ‘Ngcwele Ngcwele’,’Thum’ umlilo’ and ‘Uthixo Ngiyamvuma’.

“I am proud to unveil the album to the nation. This is the beginning of my journey in as far as gospel music is concerned. I have made sure that the album is one of the best and I believe the public will appreciate the new offering,” he said.
KaMajola said working with Mzwakhe on the album was a pleasure as Myeni is a very talented artist.
“There are a few artists that have the talent that Myeni has. Working with him has been great,” he said.

He said the public would soon be in a position to get copies of the album in the various music outlets around the country.

... apologises and says it was not his intention

MANZINI –South African gospel artist Andile KaMajola has apologised for not pitching up for his album launch held at The George Hotel.

KaMajola only arrived at The George Hotel, where he had also been booked, at around 2am on Saturday. Explaining why he failed to pitch up for his own launch, KaMajola said he left Durban at 11am on Friday with the hope that he would make it on time.

Accident

“On the way there was an accident and we had to delay for about four hours for the road to clear so we could continue with our journey. We crossed into the country through the Lavumisa Border Gate and when we were at Siphofaneni, we had a breakdown. We had to wait for Myeni (Mzwakhe) to come and pick us up. By the time he came to collect us, everyone had already left,” he said.

KaMajola, who is also a senior pastor of the All Nation Cathedral International Church, said it was not his intention to miss the launch especially because this was his first visit to the country.
“I respect the fact that people left their commitments and honoured my invitation. I am very sorry about everything that happened. I left Durban on time but because of the challenges I faced along the way, I could not make it. It is the reason why I had to make sure that they see that I am in the country despite everything that happened during the launch.”

KaMajola promised to organise another meeting where those who had turned up for the invitation would be called.
“I am honoured to hear that despite the fact that I could not make it, those who were present continued to stay and listened to the different speeches. I humbly apologise for everything that happened,” he said.
