MBABANE – Umuti, formerly known as ‘Mozaik The Producer’, has been selected as one of the artists who will perform at this year’s MTN Bushfire Festival.

Umuti Ngwenya is a producer and musician who has been in the industry for over two decades now. He has now made it to the MTN Bushfire Festival line-up, and according to the MTN Bushfire Festival Facebook page, he is back in the music scene with a new sound that is distinct, urban, modern and laden with authentic Swati-centric rhythms. During an interview with the musician, he was asked how it felt to be booked for the festival after being active in the industry for over two decades. He highlighted that he was excited, as this is an opportunity that will bring growth to him and his craft.

“I am excited to be in the Bushfire 2024 line-up. It’s been a long time coming for me, so I feel like this is the right time. I have been in the industry for over two decades now, and for me to finally do Bushfire now feels like coming full circle. It is a cycle that is about to give birth to new and bigger opportunities for growth for Umuti. On behalf of my management and my team, we really appreciate the Bushfire team for choosing us to be a part of the festival performances,” Umuti said. He further mentioned that this will be his first solo performance, as he has performed at the festival before.

“This will be my first solo performance. I haveve performed before as part of Siyinqaba and again with Kyle for a collaborative performance. It’s so beautiful to see how much the festival has grown over the past few years. Compliments to the organisers,” he said. When asked what fans can expect during his performance at the upcoming festival, he shared that he is preparing something that will be out of this world. “I’m preparing a whole performance for people to fully experience me and all that I am about. It will be out of this world,” the musician said. The MTN Bushfire Festival will be hosted from May 31 to June 2 at House On Fire in Malkerns. Some of the musicians who are set to perform during the festival include South African musician Makhadzi, DJ Sebb, Musa Keys, Feten Feten, Bongeziwe Mabandla, Bholoja, Thandiswa Mazwai and Maleh, to name a few.
