MANZINI – An early bird catches the fattest worm.

This common idiom rings true for locals and internationals who are looking to attend the Eswatini Biggest Braai event which will be hosted at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre this Saturday. This is because those who will buy tickets for the event on time before the event will have an advantage in that they will not be required to stand in queues but will gain easy access inside the venue. This was confirmed by Philani MaSwati Charity Organisation Chairperson Lutfo Dlamini during the event meeting which was held at Manzini Municipal Council Chambers yesterday.

Frustrated

“Those who have tickets will not be frustrated by long queues as they will gain express entry into the venue,” the chairperson said. To those who will be coming in cars, he said they should ensure that they had stickers on their cars, to show that their vehicles were allowed entry into the venue. Dlamini mentioned that they should make sure to get wrist bands before they entered, to avoid people requesting others to get them the bands from inside. He reiterated that people would not enter unless they had wrist bands. Dlamini urged everyone, especially corporate, to follow this instruction. The chairperson emphasised that they should all put their wrist bands on. Nonetheless, he said tickets would still be sold on the day throughout the entire event. Dlamini announced that they shall be sold on all entry points.

Authenticated

Meanwhile, the chairperson pointed out that the wrist bands were designed in such a way that they were authenticated with a special code. Dlamini said they cannot be forged. He advised against buying fake wrist bands from people who were not authorised to sell. The chairperson said parking tickets were sold prior the event. He emphasised that there would be no parking tickets sold on the day. Dlamini said if people would not have bought them before the event, then they would not get parking space inside the venue on the day. He also announced that Miss Zuri Africa queen will be there to showcase her modeling skills on the runway. Dlamini added that there would be a boxing match between prominent emaSwati such as Prophet Major V and political activist Mphandlana Shongwe, as well as car spinning and children’s games, among many other activities.

Safety

Manzini Crime Prevention Assistant Superintendent Msweli assured that there would be security as officers of the law would be littered across, ensuring safety of attendants. He cautioned the public not to leave their possessions where thieves may be tempted to steal them inside cars. He said these include cellphones, purses and wallets. Msweli said thieves made it a habit to break car windows in order to get access to these possessions.
