MBABANE – The bell ‘rang’ at 6pm and the gates opened at Mega Lounge for the second edition of the back to school event.

The event, which was themed ‘Back to school’, required all in attendance to be dressed in school uniform. So it was as most of the attendees came dressed in full school uniform and pupil characters to match. Mega Sound Entertainment Director Samkelo Zulu narrated how the show was one of the most anticipated events of the new year and was excited to be hosting it even this year. It was a theme that was born in the previous year.  When the clock struck 8pm, the venue was already full and the resident DJs were firing up the decks, keeping the patrons on their feet. From the likes of  Drum Rhythm, DJ President, The Bishops and Sgitha, commonly known as Sgitha wama 2000, kept the fire burning throughout the night.

Activities

There were also activities at the venue for the patrons’ entertainment, like a rodeo, which was undoubtedly a fan favourite.  For a couple of coins, patrons could ride the bull for two minutes before it reached its maximum speed, then shake them off on the safety net around the bull. Ironically, it started raining at the event, like it usually happens on the first day of every year when schools reopen. The night was filled with fun moments, in anticipation of the main man of the night all the way from South Africa, Myztro. Myztro, real name Tshiamiso Sekowe, is an artist and DJ. He was announced to be in the country right before 1am. The artist then jumped onto the decks minutes after 2am and the crowd went crazy. Myztro kept the patrons going for over an hour and after his set, spoke for a while about his performance. “The reception I got from the people in the country is amazing and I felt their energy and just gave it back,” said Myztro.  The event went on until the early hours of the morning, with the energies still on a high.
