SNOWEE SCOUTED BY UK DESIGNER

MBABANE - Eswatini-born top model Snowee made a name for herself while walking on Seychelles runways and catching the attention of a United Kingdom (UK) designer.

Born Nolwazi Simelane, Snowee was part of the Seychelles Fashion Week which took place on September 26, this year until the first of this month.
She dazzled so much at the show that it resulted in her being approached for another runway show which will be in Ghana on December 17, of this year. Terry Carola, Director for the Seychelles Fashion Week, shared that he was the mediator between Snowee and the designer, who was amazed by the model. “She is one model that brings a different element to the runway all the time and she is one of the best,” said Carola.

She was in Seychelles for duration of two weeks and has made history as the first liSwati to be a part of such an event. She was also the first liswati to walk the runway for the 2021 Italy Fashion week. Another model that represented the country in 2010 was model Phiwa Tshangela, who graced runways in Milan Itali. This is not the first time Simelane has modeled on runways across the globe; she was also made a showstopper model for three designs at the annual Atlanta Fashion Week (ACFW). The ACFW, which was the 15th edition, took place from September 19 to September 21 at Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the United States of America (US).

Seychelles Fashion Week is a platform for the world’s fashioners, pioneers and creatives to come together in order to develop fashion in Seychelles.
The model has worked with some of the top designers and fashion brands, including Zaida Mansa from the UK, Romeo Paul from Qatar, Sista Fellas and Londiwe Ndlovu from South Africa (SA). When reached for an interview, Snowee disclosed that she was happy to be a part of such a big fashion event, and representing Eswatini. “Seychelles Fashion Week never disappoints, and being invited for the second time was an honour which I couldn’t decline.

It’s something that builds my profile especially because I get to work with the best designers in the world,” said Snowee. The model has done photo-shoots with Christonati Couture, one of the best Italian brands. It is worth noting that the shoot was courtesy of a modeling agency by Clavon Designs from New York, US,which she signed with in 2018. She was revealed as one of the models alongside SA former Ring of Lies, The Queen and Isono actor Bohang Moeko.
