PASTORS’ WIVES REDEFINE FASHION

MBABANE – Pastor’s Wives Dinner Discussion 2nd Edition proved to be a redefinition of fashion and class in the church as they came dressed to the nines.

The annual event was held at the Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini on Saturday. Over 100 pastor’s wives and singles attended the female only dinner, where discussions on issues revolving around the Christian women in a church set-up. According to the founder of the concept, Mpumie Motsa, the event was designed to allow women, especially pastor’s wives to tap into their inner beauty and rebuild their confidence. She said the platform also allows the ladies to engage in confidential discussions, hence, it was titled, Dinner Discussions. “The intention was to create a safe space for the ladies, especially those married to pastors, none pastors, singles, divorced and those engaged.

“The event was open to every lady who goes to church. We would like to appreciate our partners, SWAGAA, Bible Society, Inhlonhla, Happy Valley, Swift and 24/7 Entertainment. We achieved our goal of empowering, rediscovery, and breaking stereotypes,” she said. Motsa said fashion was a great part of the event and the white carpet was where the confidence and belief was built for the ladies. The event was an overwhelming success and the ladies came prepared and dressed to their best. I want to specifically thank our speakers for the night for sharing such critical information. We treated topics such as self-care, being a single, abuse and balancing of duties. The ladies got to share their experiences and above all, we were able to discover our self-confidence,” she said.  She thanked all their corporate partners who supported the event which was headlined by Guest Speaker Dr. Sonene Nyawo.

Abuse

Director of Swatini Action Group Against Abuse (SWAGAA), Nonhlanhla Dlamini, also made a presentation on forms of abuse in the church and the role of pastors’ wives in identifying abused church members. Other speakers included Nomsa Nkhoma, who treated a topic on living a single life before and after marriage. Winile Mthethwa addressed the issue of self-care and love.
