MBABANE – Gospel music lovers will once again have a date with South Africa’s award-winning gospel choir, Joyous Celebration.

The last time the Gospel music lovers got an opportunity to see the award-winning group was in 2018 at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre. This time around, the choir will be launching its latest album titled ‘JOY 26’. Information gathered is that the choir, under the leadership of Jabu Hlongwane, Lindelani Mkhize and Mthunzi Namba will be performing in the Kingdom of Eswatini in August. While details of the show are still under wraps, it has been gathered that the choir will be in the country courtesy of Umvini Events Management.
Umvini Events Management is a company led by Nhlanhla Mathunjwa. Mathunjwa is also the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Association of Christian Artists in Eswatini (ACAESWA).

Hosted

It will not be the first time the company hosts Joyous Celebration as they first hosted the group in 2014. This was during a show held at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre. The company was also involved in managing the last show in 2018. It has also been gathered that preparations for the show have already started as the show is scheduled for August 27, at a venue yet to be confirmed. Before, the show was organised by Eswatini MTN in partnership with Destiny Music Group. “I can confirm that Joyous Celebration is coming this year. This is one show that most people have been longing for,” said a source close to the company. The source added: “For the past month, the company’s management has been preparing the show and all details have since been confirmed as the choir agreed to come.”

The Entertainment Desk contacted Mathunjwa who at first was reluctant to talk about the matter. “How did you get details about the show? We had the intention of releasing a proper statement in due course,” he said. However, he confirmed that preparations for the show had already started.

Performance

“I can confirm to you that the choir has been booked for a performance in the country. The show will be on August 27, 2022. We shall be releasing more details about the show in the next few weeks,” he said. Mathunjwa encouraged Gospel music lovers to start preparing themselves for the show, saying they would try by all means to see to it that tickets were affordable.
“This time around, the show will be bigger and better. What should be noted for obvious reasons, is tickets will be limited. I just encourage music lovers to start booking seats. We already have a number that can be used by those who have the interest of booking their seats. They can call 76070468,” he said.
