The festival was held at Impala Stadium in Phalaborwa, the star serenaded over 5 000 fans that had gathered to celebrate alongside family and friends. It is worth noting that the festival had announced its return after a two year COVID-19 restriction enforced hiatus, much like the MTN Bushfire Festival which will be held next month. Clad in a Swati traditionally inspired dress, along with her back-up dancers and band, she enthralled the audience with her Swati flavour as she performed her chart-topping songs like Tinyembeti, Game Changer, Mncandzeni and Joy. When asked how her performance were, Zamo said: “It was nothing short of amazing actually. The band, back-up singers and crowd were amazing. It was my first time performing at the festival and I really enjoyed myself on stage. It is really amazing to see Swati music appreciated even beyond our borders.”

The fruit extravaganza gives a platform to marula beer brewers, sport individuals and artists to showcase their talent, while local crafters share traditionally brewed marula beverages with community members. It is a festival that is held over a period of four days. Economic Development and Tourism MEC Thabo Mokone said the festival and activities contributed to economic growth, domestic tourism and enhanced local trade. This was during a media launch last held last week at Sefapane Lodge in Phalaborwa, days before the main event. Zamo is not new to gracing international stages as she also performed at the MTN Bushfire Festival, Macufe Festival and has also worked with legendary South African musos like Mbongeni Ngema and Joyous Celebration.
