QWABE TWINS FOR XCHANGE LOUNGE ON FRIDAY

MBABANE – Building on last week’s momentum, The XChange Lounge and Shisanyama will be hosting another showstopper of an event.

This was confirmed by Kool Swazi Director DJ Mfundo yesterday and he said the show would be happening on Friday April 1, 2022, featuring Afrotainment duo the Qwabe Twins. The twins are a South African (SA) Afro Pop duo consisting of two identical twins, namely Virginia and Viggy Qwabe and they signed to DJ Tira-owned Afrotainment records to release their first studio album in 2020 titled ‘The gift of love’. The duo is originally from Kwazulu-Natal (KZN) and has skyrocketed to fame since being signed to Afrotainment. The twins are previous contestants on Idols season 15 and this is how the record label spotted them. It is worth noting that Tira, their mentor, was in the country this past weekend and had revellers begging for more after he was done. If his set is anything to go by, the Qwabe sisters are yet to thrill The XChange this Friday.

According to DJ Mfundo, Malume was so humbled and impressed by the response emaSwati gave him during his show, he decided to facilitate this event. The Qwabe Twins will be touching down in Eswatini for the first time and we are sure they have much to prove to their Eswatini fans. “The Qwabe Twins will have a live performance at The XChange Lounge this coming Friday and general tickets will cost E100, while VIP tickets will be available for E200. The Kool Swazi director also mentioned that they would have local acts on the line-up too like ZuluD of Mega Sound, Snolove, Sbu De Drum DJ, Maphi and DJ Expo to name a few. The event MC will be KB DA DJ and the line-up will include XChange Lounge resident DJs.
It is great to see local organisers solidifying working relationships with artists or record labels, that flourish into a consistent stream of shows.

It is definitely a positive for the Eswatini music industry as The XChange Lounge will be the first venue to host the Qwabe Twins; a first of its kind. If that is not adding value to our industry, we don’t know what is.
