UK DJ FOR HOUSE MUSIQ FEST

MBABANE – It’s about to go down!

British electronic DJ, producer and artist Charles Webster is set to perform at the House Musiq Festival. The aforementioned was officially shared during the launch of the festival.  Webster will be supported by Black Motion, who are a South African (SA) electronic duo known for blending House music with lively indigenous percussion as well as multilingual vocals with an array of guests from the country’s thriving dance music community. Patrons will also see the thrilling performances of !Sooks, Glen Lewis, DJ Phenomenal, Ntombs, MBO, Wicked, Cup and Crooks to mention a few.  One of the organising partners from SoFresh inc, Nomabizo Mthethwa, said the festival would be a lifestyle event.  “It is more of a lifestyle event and we can only assure patrons a great festival with an epic line-up,” she said.

Mthethwa went on to add that this year they would have unique stalls which cater for all sectors, including fashion and food. “This year we are challenging small and medium entities; giving them a platform to showcase their craft and talents. Our children’s section will have various safe games. Security will be our number one priority,” she explained. Mthethwa also added that they would also have park and rides from different towns. “Transport is one of the items fun lovers shouldn’t worry about. We will be having stations from Mbabane, Ezulwini, Matsapha and Manzini,” she said.

Mthunzi ‘Shadow’ Zwane from Swaziboy Entertainment encouraged fun lovers to arrive early. He also shared that this year they would be having a beer garden. Mzameni Mpanza from PSI said they would also attend the event to create more awareness on vaccinating. He said they would be education patrons and ensuring the safety of vaccinated people. Tickets to the event for presale cost E200 and E250 at the gate, while VIP costs E400.

Locals

It is worth noting that the first show was held in 2019 and was attended by over 500 fun lovers and deep house fanatics. This saw South Africa’s Andy X, DJ Terrence, Oscar Mbo and Tibza to name a few perform.  Other local acts that have been a part of the festival include Dj Crooks, Mistosoul, DJ MBO, !Sooks, Fantacy and Tonic Deep among others. Other activities from the festival include awards which are aimed at honouring certain individuals that contribute to the development of house music in the kingdom. This included categories like Connoisseurs of House Eswatini, Pioneers of House and Achievers of the last couple of years and Contributors to the development of House music in Eswatini.
