MBABANE –  Epic!

This word best describes the first Summer Gardens festival which took place this past Sunday at Malkerns Country Club. South African artists Musa Keys and Mellow & Sleazy brought the party to the venue which was packed as early as 4pm, until the early hours of the morning. First to take to the stage from the SA artists were ‘Nkao Tempela’ hitmakers Mellow and Sleazy who thrilled the audience with exclusive amapiano songs that are yet to be released.

One reveller Thabiso Dlamini said, “I swear Mellow and Sleazy’s set was really on point for me as I danced from when they took to the stage. This honestly felt like we were witnessing the Balcony Mix Experience they recently did with Major League Deejays live recently.”  Despite Major League deejays not coming to performing as advertised, fun lovers were serenaded with hit after hit from ‘Selema’ hitmaker Musa Keys, when he took to the stage. This was right after Supa CDQ enthralled with his Hip Hop selections which got the crowd dancing.

Apart from the exclusive songs, Musa Keys played behind the decks, the audience, especially the ladies constantly screamed his name on top of their lungs whilst singing along his songs.
He performed hits like Wena, Selema, Possible and Abekho to name a few. Whilst on stage, he also sang a happy birthday song alongside the crowd for her fan, Thuthu Mbingo. Before he left for the stage, he also paid tribute to the late Riky Rick as he sang and freestyled through the rapper’s song.

He also confessed his love for emaSwati who always showed him love when he performed in the country. Mellow and Sleazy on the other hand mentioned that they would be back in the country in a month’s time to perform. “The performance was too much and the atmosphere was lit. It was actually really dope as we did not expect the show to be like this honestly. We were actually talking to one of our friends, Neo, who actually lives this side so he’s organising a young gig for us. We are definitely coming back, trust and believe,” he said. Fun lover Nthabiseng told this publication that the she enjoyed herself during the show and couldn’t wait for yet another epic festival. Sive Hlophe on the other hand said: “Although I had anticipated  to see Major League deejays for the first time, the show was a 100 per cent fun man. Shout out to the organisers for adding yet another beautiful festival in the kingdom.”
