MTN SPOTLIGHT DOWN TO THREE

MBABANE - The Top 3 for the Spotlight Season 3 have been chosen!

The three finalists to battle it out for the variety of prizes on December 11, 2021 are 27-year-old Nonjabulo Joy Magagula from Mbabane, 22-year old Sanele Mkhwanazi from Mbekelweni and the youngest finalist being Nobesuthu Zungu aged 20 years from Luyengo. The three contestants made it into the finals after a week of voting and judging by the public as well as Sunday’s judging from the judges.

Rendition

Their rendition of Amapiano tracks and performances are what was used to determine if they can hold their own on a stage with dancers. This means that the only rapper that had been left in the competition, Mnqobi Nkambule, is now out as well as the bubbly Phakamile Dlamini and Simphiwe Mnisi. The judges, however, noted in the case of Phakamile that her performance level up may be too little too late because the voters had not seen that version of her in previous episodes. They advised her not to leave her best for last, but to always perform her best from the onset next time. She did a rendition of Emile Sande’s Suitcase. That was the same case with Mnqobi, who also did a lovely free style which led Judge Ndumiso Dlamini to say if he does not make it, he must call him for future development of his art. “That was brilliant, if you are not voted into the Top 3, do call me and let’s work,” he said.

Voted

Mnqobi was not eventually voted into Top 3, but it remains to be seen if he will take up the offer from the award-winning producer judge. The Spotlight Season 3 is powered by sponsors and partners like Nandos, Destiny Group, Mantenga Lodge, Super Signs, Sitiba’s Hair and Make-up, Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA), Huawei, Eswatini TV, KrTC of Hip Hop Clothing and Lifespan Diagnostics. Voting reopened on Saturday at 10am and will go on until the Grand Finale.
