MBABANE – Gospel sensation Linda Dlamini’s music has proven to make waves internationally.

Most recently, Dlamini’s song ‘Konkhe Kuyang’lungela’, which was recorded live at the God Never Fails (GNF) Auditorium in Johannesburg was featured in a gospel music show called ‘The Playlist’ from Nigeria. Hosted by Eddy Jay, the programme airs on Dunamis TV which is an extension television programme for Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC) - a church located in Abuja, Nigeria. According to the church’s website, Dunamis International Gospel Centre is a destiny moulding centre where lives are empowered to fulfil their destiny.

Dunamis TV has a YouTube channel where the church services are uploaded with a total of 219 000 subscribers. This means that the song was actually voted for by Nigerians in that country which is a positive for Eswatini music is given that Nigeria is one of the most populated countries in the African region with over 200 million citizens. The song placed number six in ‘The Playlist’ charts and Dlamini was quite elated at this as he said, “I am happy and excited about this because in the near future I intend on achieving my set goals of performing in East African countries and this is a sign that my music is loved which gives me joy and satisfaction that the gospel of the Lord has reached countries I never had anticipated in the past.”

Kufeziwe Communications Public Relations Officer (PRO) Nomfundo Makhubu also confirmed this as she said she was proud that Eswatini music was being recognised even at the international stage, especially in Nigeria where siSwati is a foreign language.
She went on to add that his fans and gospel music lovers as a whole should look out for his next performance at the Atmosphere of Glory Tour at Karino Estate in Mbombela and new music towards the end of the year. Dlamini will be performing alongside Nduduzo Matse, Shekinah, Sipho Ngwenya, Lungelo Matse, Gedlembane and Smallz.
