‘SNOWEE’ WINS INTERNATIONAL AWARD

MBABANE – It is a big win for local model ‘Snowee’, whose real name is Nolwazi Simelane.

The renowned fashion model, who hails from Siteki, has been awarded a gong for Female Model of the Year, an initiative produced by Global Ovations Ltd, who are producers for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Kigali, Global Fashion Week Accra. ‘Snowee’ has walked multiple international runways and her face has been plastered on local and international magazine covers as well as making international television appearances in Ireland and South Africa.  

Winning

The news of her winning the award came just days after she revealed to the Entertainment Desk that she had been nominated. She shared the news of her win on her Facebook and Instagram stories, where she appreciated everyone from Eswatini, who had voted for her and further assured the nation that this was on their behalf. “This goes to everyone who voted for me, Clavon Models and Global fashion week for recognising and nominating your girl, much love. It’s time to push even harder,” she wrote. She further confirmed the news of her winning the award with the Entertainment Desk when contacted on WhatsApp and further expressed her excitement saying ‘Yes, it’s a win’.

The Global Style Icon Awards are a platform that seeks to discover and celebrate fashion industrial professionals that are setting pace in the global fashion space. As a global reaching event, the Global Style Icon Awards were hosted on Sunday in Accra, Ghana and had in their attendance relevant key industrial professionals who have been setting trends and changing the narratives in the global fashion space. “With the global fashion industry at heart and Africa’s future in mind, Global Ovations Limited has decided to come up with this award to honour fashion industrial professionals who passionately advocate for the wellbeing and growth of the industry through the use of their creative talent,” reads a statement on their website.
