MBABANE – After the circulation of a rather disturbing video on social media, which took place at The Xchange Lounge and Shisanyama, the establishment has issued a statement.

The video, whose details cannot be described, started making rounds on social media on Sunday around 4pm. The statement was subsequently posted on the establishment’s Facebook page around 9pm.

“There is no one, who wants this thing over more than we do as it paints a bad image for our venue. At the heart of our mission is the idea that The Xchange is a place, where everyone can belong, which is a goal that everyone at The Xchange works towards,” reads part of the statement.

They further narrated how the ordeal started as they said they had clients, who came in and the driver was already drunk and drove through a wall, which then caused a flat tyre.

“As we were taking care of the situation, the passengers of the vehicle started a live stream of themselves without us noticing what they were doing. As The Xchange we do not support or encourage such an act to happen and as such, we would like to send a strong warning to clients to respect the venue,”

In addition to that, they urged young people to practice good morals and respect themselves especially in public areas. Over two weeks ago, The Xchange was celebrating it’s one year anniversary and hosted gospel musicians, which included Takie Ndou and Linda Dlamini, and DJs for the celebrations.

The establishment has had its fair share of drama and controversy ever since it was opened in 2019 as there was a case of a man, who danced naked as well as a magician, who showed off acts with snakes.
