NOMCEBO GUSHES OVER WFF JERUSALEMA VIDEO

 MBABANE – Millions of people across the globe are reacting towards Master KG’s hit song titled ‘Jerusalema’ including Eswatini’s Women Farmer Foundation (WFF).

The global hit single produced by the 24-year-old Limpopo-born musician and record producer, whose real name is Kgaogelo Moagi, also features vocalist Nomcebo Zikode and continues to reach greater heights across the globe. The chart-topping song is enjoying international success with its video gathering more than 120 million views on YouTube. 

The song that was recently certified platinum in Italy and has also captured the attention of many, including US singer and actress Janet Jackson.

In an interview with WFF Director Sonia Paiva, she said she understood that the #JerusalemaChallenge choreography was aimed at joining the rest of world in prayer to face the coronavirus pandemic and coming in unity to seek God’s protection from the virus.

This year’s revamped ‘Swazi Rally – Vakasha Ekhaya’ event, which took place over a week ago, strengthened its relations with WFF as they partnered in the choreography of the internationally acclaimed dance routine by South African DJ Master KG featuring Nomcebo Zikode. 

The video shoot took place on the Sunday leading to the weekend of the rally at Riders Ranch, in Sidvokodvo. 

Paiva told this publication that the project was a first of its kind, where they were hoping it would further strengthen their relations with the Swazi Rally as an entertainment hub for bikers and all biker fans. 

“The dance routine, which was exceptionally displayed by Eswatini’s Correctional Services female warders was beyond our expectations and we trust that Eswatini was well represented and promoted through this dance,” she said.   

As soon as the dance video was shared across Swazi Rally and Rider’s Ranch social media platforms, users of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter shared it on their profiles, tagging the artists.

Zikode, who is the lead vocalist of the song, shared the four minutes and 30 seconds WFF video on her Instagram profile on Monday. 

On its caption bar she wrote, “Wow, thank you. This is beautiful, someone please take me to Eswatini.”

Since then the video has been viewed over 22 000 times and attracted comments from other South African giant musicians including Indlovukazi, who said it was her favourite from all the submissions as well as comedian Thenjiwe and Mampintsha.

The local users of the app were thrilled at seeing this such that they welcomed her and encouraged her to do so as soon as the border gates could open.

“Our efforts alone cannot be effective so the continued support from our partners is highly appreciated as it encourages us to further advocate for improved economic freedom for Eswatini’s women,” said Paiva.  WFF, through Slindele Nkosi, expressed her excitement over the reaction from the artist and said she hoped she would be able to finally make it to the country.
