MBABANE – The MTN BUSHFIRE will upload the recent #KeepTheFireBurning concert on YouTube for the fans who missed its live airing two weeks ago.

Making the reveal was the festival’s Communications Officer, Phiwokuhle Dhlamini, who said they were in the final stages of polishing up the video.
Speaking to the Entertainment Desk, Dhlamini said the video would include all the performances that were witnessed on the day.

“We are currently working on putting the video on digital streaming platforms, however, certain precautions such as copyrights need to be adhered to since some of the artists in the Firefly were DJs who played music from other international artists,” she said.

She could not state the exact date when the concert would be uploaded but she said they were working towards it.
“Inspired by the festival’s #BRINGYOURFIRE call to action for positive change, the #KeepTheFireBurning live-cast was part of MTN Bushfire’s COVID-19 response to support our beneficiaries, Young Heroes and boMake Rural Projects,” she said.

First

The MTN Bushfire #KeepTheFireBurning Digital Festival was the first African festival streamed online with multiple stages using interactive Zoom rooms!
This digital celebration of diversity was a powerful reflection of the spirit of inclusion and connectedness that MTN Bushfire is synonymous with.
Dhlamini revealed that over 5 000 ‘Fire Starters’ from 63 countries online, and another estimated 130 000 viewers in Eswatini, gathered around this virtual flame, immersing themselves in an authentically African and globally-infused programme, and engaging with one another.

“Using the power of the arts to keep hope alive and celebrate our diversity, the #KeepTheFireBurning Digital Festival brought together artists and fans of the festival from across Africa and as far afield as China, Germany, Colombia, Norway, the UK and the USA, among other countries,” she added.

She also expressed the festival directors’ gratitude to artists, performers, partners, and most importantly all the viewers, for making this event truly unforgettable and incredibly inspiring by joining in, dancing, donating and bringing your fire.
She also shared a special thank you to all of those who made a donation towards the festival.

To date, a total of R101 358 has been collected and the donation link is still open for those who wish to make a donation.

Donation

Dhlamini said the donations were still open until today at 5pm.
“We would like to encourage anyone who can,
