‘ALL TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS BASH’ SHUTS DOWN MANZINI

MANZINI – Fun lovers had the time of their lives at the ‘All Tertiary Institutions Bash’ which was held at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre on Saturday night.


The event which began late in the evening attracted hundreds of young and old people who came from all over the Manzini and Mbabane corridor.
Headlining performances were from DJ Tira also known as Malume Bearings, who is no stranger to performing in the country as he was here just three weeks ago at the  Xchange in Manzini, ‘uMbali’ hit maker Leehleza as well as ‘Jerusalem’ hitmaker Master KG.


A highlight of the event was the invigorating dance moves which were seen to be a trend among all the performances.
The Trend Twins, who are two female deejays who play afro house music set, the tone for the event as they dished out thrilling sounds on the decks as well as captivating dance moves.


They climbed and danced on the stage scaffolding much to the amazement of the fun lovers.
Their performance was soon followed by Leehleza whose erotic lyrical content leaves a little to the imagination.
He performed his hits which included ‘uMbali’, ‘Amabele Shaya’, ‘Suk’emabhozeni’ and ‘Ama Sick Note’.


Master KG, who was also in the company of a DJ and two dancers shook the arena as he climbed the stage just after 2am.
His set was immediately received with cheers from the people in attendance as they kept screaming for his hit song Jerusalem.
Throughout his hour long performance he kept on mentioning that he was performing in Eswatini for the first time and also appreciated the beauty of the people of Eswatini.


He was then followed by DJ Virgo Deep who is an amapiano DJ and music producer.
His calm and soothing beats mesmerised the crowd before a performance from DJ Tira.
Tira took to the stage at around 3am and performed for two hours without a break.

With a music career spanning over 15, years his performance was filled with nostalgic hits that he released from ‘Ngisemathandweni, ‘Summertime’ and ‘Thank You Mr DJ’.
He also performed alongside Eswatini’s renowned DJ, Touch of Soul whom he revealed to the Entertainment Desk to be his other reason for embracing Eswatini.
Although the stage was far from the crowd the artists were seen mingling with the people at the packed venue as they jumped off the stage and on moved the crowd.


Bongiwe, who had come to the event with her friends Nolly and Nono, said she had been looking forward to seeing Tira performing live and that she had never missed shows that have him on the line up.
Nokwanda Masimula said she was a big fan of DJ Virgo Deep and would be delighted for a meet and greet with him.
The fun lovers kept on chanting ‘corona, corona, corona’ much to the amusement of the performers.

Security personnel from Kwekwe were placed all over the showground area and made sure no fights broke out. On the night, the MC kept reminding fun lovers to wash their hands or rather sanitise and drink lots of water.
“In as much as we are having the time of our lives, lets also make sure that we take safety precautions like not sharing cigarettes and constantly sanitising our hands, we can beat this corona,” said the MC, Welz Wethu. 


Meanwhile, Leehleza and DJ Tira during an interview said they were excited to be back in the country to perform.
“Eswatini has become my second home, I love it here, the people make it easy for me to keep coming back,” said Tira.


On the other hand, Leehleza said we will be seeing much of him in the country as he would like to come back to perform.
Sibusiso Dlamini, who is the Director for Speedy Growth Investments who organised the show said he was grateful for the people who came through to the show and that he hoped it would grow.
