MTN BUSHFIRE FIREFLY APPLICATIONS OPEN!

MBABANE- Back with a bang! MTN BUSHFIRE 2020 is thrilled to announce the return of the MTN Bushfire Firefly.
The objective of this campaign is to encourage all youthful musicians in Eswatini to send in their music recordings to be considered for a live performance at the MTN BUSHFIRE 2020.

This was revealed by MTN BUSHFIRE Firefly’s Penny Bouwer, who said all genres of music were welcome.
Launched in 2017, MTN BUSHFIRE Firefly continues to be one of Eswatini’s biggest launch-pads to unearth new talent, targeted at the young, gifted and free.

“The aim of this vibrant platform is to create a music space that has no limitations for the youth to share their musical creativity and lyrical authenticity, while encouraging them to freely express themselves through their music,” said Bouwer. She said after three seasons, the growth had been phenomenal with a reach of over 40 000 people who had positively interacted with the campaign across multiple channels on digital, print and beyond.

She revealed that applications were open to residents or nationals of Eswatini from yesterday until February 16.
Independent judges will select the top 20, who will be announced on February 21 across our social media platforms, along with their music track links for listening.

“At this stage, the public is encouraged to listen to the top 20 tracks and vote for their favourite artists who they would like to see perform at MTN BUSHFIRE 2020. The public is welcome to vote for more than one artist at this stage.

“The voting period will be open from February 21 to March 15 through Online Voting System (OVS) and mobile SMS. The SMS number will be announced as soon as voting lines are open.
The highest number of public votes will determine the Top 10 acts to perform at the finale,” she explained.

The final Top 10 will then be announced on March 20 and will be gearing up to perform at the finale on April 3 at House On Fire.

At the Finale, the public can only vote for one artist. All finalists and eventual winners will be required to sing on a back-track during their performance.
The top three winners will be chosen and announced on the night, securing a spot at MTN BUSHFIRE 2020.
