MBABANE – Talent comes in different forms.

This is true for S-Tone, whose real name is Sifiso Magagula. Magagula made an appearance on the popular youth Etv soapie Rhythm City on December 30. The soapie airs Monday to Friday at 7pm. Rhythm City revolves around the struggles of surviving Johannesburg. It all starts in a four roomed home and the experiences follow two empires in the entertainment space; The Generos and the Ndlovus and how their heirs want to dominate the scene. The characters try to navigate around the affluent and aspirational lifestyles of the city.
Past rivalries, industry conflicts, infidelity, backstabbing, sexuality, love, and pain, good and evil are the order of the day as the story plays out moving from between the township to the suburbs.

Diaspora

S-Tone is not a new face in the entertainment scene as he is widely known in the music entertainment scene and has worked in diaspora with a celebrated calibre of musicians such as Sun El Musician, who is also one of the co-founders of the record label he is managed under called El World. In an interview with the Entertainment Desk, S-Tone revealed that his appearance on the soapie was with Jamie Bartlett whose character ‘David Genaro’ is a silent partner at Red Records. He said his role on the soapie was as an artist that is signed to the record label.
“In the storyline, a bad article written about me had appeared in the newspapers around Johannesburg and Genaro was letting out his frustrations on me about the bad publicity this had drawn for the label,” he said.

On acting, he said he had always loved TV and movies as he would watch soapies like Rhythm City and being in the entertainment scene he had secretly wanted to explore other avenues within the sector. He said it was one of the many ways which would help him increase his brand awareness. He appeared on two scenes in one episode and hoped that more opportunities would still avail themselves for him to act otherwise his passion remained in music where he still has pending projects.
