MANZINI – Packed to the rafters! This speaks to the annual and now historical Umlilo Gospel Crossover which is also known as the Gaw’zela/ TGC (Tshwane Gospel Choir) Crossover that packed the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre in Manzini on December 31 2019.

This has become a norm with the show which has grown to attract thousands of gospel music lovers from all walks of life in and beyond the country.
Flocking the venue, the show started heating up at about 4pm where Zion musicians, including Scara Maziya the ‘Awuphind’uzame’ hit maker took over the stage.
Other acts including Phetsile Masilela, Apostle-Bishop Vusimuzi Maculuve and other fired things up.

The internationally renowned Tshwane Gospel Choir and Siphumelele Mbambo, who have become partners in the show and have been performing for the past five years, also performed, bringing their fire to the venue which is popular for epic shows.

Just before midnight, Pastor Israel Malaza from Jesus Calls Worship Centre and Ambassador’s House Ministries Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule took over the stage and prophesied over  the new year.

After the two men of God prayed over the year 2020, at exactly 12 midnight, renowned Eswatini gospel musician and Member of Parliament Mduduzi ‘Gaw’zela’ Simelane led the crowd in song with ‘Thuma Mina’, his signature song. While this happened, the crowd sang along, some prayed holding lit candles and fireworks lit up the sky, welcoming everyone in to the New Year.

Celebration in song continued until the wee hours of the morning.Simelane said he was happy that the show was growing each year.
“We are excited that the people of Eswatini keep embracing our show each and every year. We also hope that they spiritually get fulfilled.”
