MANZINI - Women, a force to reckon with.

This was evident on Sunday at The Divas Concert, held at The George Hotel Gardens, where they entertained fun and music lovers throughout the day and night. Hosted by the popular New Life Entertainment, the event saw women with different talents portraying them on stage. Most of the women who were part of the event were singers and DJs, and they all ‘slayed’ with their superb talents. Lady Cream, who is one of Eswatini’s most respected DJ, was hands on throughout the event as she was DJ-ing in between performances. She showed her versatility by being able to dish out music of all genres, including gqom, amapiano, hip hop, RnB and even gospel music. Velemseni, came all ‘guns blazing’ as she wowed the hundred that attended with her lovely soulful voice. She gave a blissful 40-minute performance and broke the ice for other artists who followed throughout the day.

Tone

Renowned Eswatini gospel artist Nothando Hlophe set the vibey tone as she sang worship and praise songs including ‘Yebo’, ‘Imphilo Yami’, ‘Khulu’ugcobo’ and others which left people screaming and dancing in high spirits. ‘Mporoma’ hitmaker Nomalungelo Dladla did what she is known for and that is electrifying the venue with positive energy. She sang her signature songs ‘Bambelela’, ‘Mporoma’ and other that people danced to. Floewe and South Africa’s Berita were more relaxed in their renditions, leaning more on the jazzy sounds which were magnified with the live music. South Africa’s Indlovukazi was the climax of the night as she sang her popular house music songs including the much loved ‘Gugulethu’ and ‘My Dali’ which are produced by South African leading music producers Prince Kaybee and TNS. New Life Entertainment’s Zama ‘DJ Cup’ Maseko said they were overwhelmed by the great turnout.

Host

“We are definitely going to host another edition of this show,” said Maseko. Nolwazi Dlamini, who was an attendee, applauded the organisers for a great show. “This show proved that women are very capable of doing anything they set their minds to,” said Dlamini.
