EZULWINI – A dream come true.

Nomsa Nono Sibandze, a teacher at Zombodze High School had a dream of giving her form V students a memorable send-off. Sibandze then took an initiative to ask the public for donations of prom dresses and suits towards her students and luckily for her, her friends, family and the public came to her plea and supported her with what she had asked for. This was not the first time Sibandze had done this. Last year, she did the same thing for the then outgoing form Vs students from Zombodze High where she is also a teacher. It was then that she then decided she would do this annually as it fulfilled her dream of giving every child a memorable prom.

Excitement

Delivering her remarks during the event, Nsibande expressed her excitement and gratitude to all the people who made the prom a success. “This is God’s work I posted what I needed and he provided through these people. Thank you,” she said.  Speaking on behalf of the pupils was Lushaba Lindelwa who shared a heart-warming message to Nsibande. “Goje you are the best teacher in the whole wide world, all this couldn’t have been possible without you. Thank you for giving us this moment,” she said.

Anonymous

All costs were covered by the anonymous donors and the school also gave out money to support the event, even though it was not under the budget.  Xoliswa Mdaka, all the way from South Africa under Miss Jozi, was also present at the prom. She was also one of the donors who donated over 16 dresses.  “I read about what Nsibande wanted through social media.
‘‘They had a poster with numbers, I called, the rest was history,” she said. The love Nsibande has for her students made everything possible for them to have a prom night with the support of the nation. The students looked dapper in their outfits and could not express their enormous joy; some of them shed tears and were all smiles during the event.
