From the time the show started, fun lovers were already hyped up and dancing to all the performances and renditions that were made. Packing the dance floor at about 9pm was DJ Bandz, who dished out gqom tracks which made people reminisce, in dance, how the genre can make them dance frantically. Illa Penboy, with his vocalist Msizi added the hip hop ‘flava’ to the show, making many dance, especially when he performed his signature song ‘Achuuu’.

The song is also trending on Facebook and his other social media platforms as he always hashtags it. Megasound’s DJ Tibo was a stunner to watch, as always. He rendered his signature electro house music, which is also referred to as rave. His set set the tone for the night, despite the light drizzles. Megasound Co-founder Samkelo Zulu, who is widely known as Zulu D or Mr 4hours, ‘ambushed’ the stage with the trending song ‘Zizojiki’zinto’, which is a song that reminisces the days of struggle.

People, including Zulu D, danced the ‘Toyi Toyi’ style and this made many dance as he went behind the decks and dished out the best gqom sounds that landed him the MTN SWAMA ‘DJ of the Year’ Award. Another epic set was South African musician NaakMusiq’s set, which many sang along to. He sang his song ‘Mamelani’, that flocked many ladies to the front of the stage while they watched him with smiles. This annual event also had the deep house music dance floor, which fun lovers who loved the genre warmly embraced. This was the fourth edition of the Megasound Picnic and it is increasingly becoming one of the most anticipated shows in the country.
