MANZINI – Put on your dancing shoes. Popular South African kwaito group Trompies are set to perform at the All Star Festival to be hosted at Rider’s Ranch, Eswatini on September 21.

The show’s organizer, Sifiso Maziya, confirmed with the Entertaimnment desk that Trompies were very excited to come back to Eswatini because this time, they would be entertaining people who also share the same passion and taste in style.

They are promising to set the stage alight with their timeless nostalgic sounds such as ‘Fohloza’. The group consists of Emmanuel ‘Mjokes Matsane’, Mandla ‘Spikiri’ Mofokeng, Eugene ‘Donald Duck’ Mthethwa, Jairus ‘Jakarumba’ Nkwe, as well as Zynne ‘Mahoota’ Sibika.

“The theme of the festival is All Star footwear, so the artists who are part of  the line up had to have the to stick to the theme as we know Trompies are the godfathers of Kwaito music. All Stars was their footwear of choice when they broke out into the music industry,” said Maziya.

Footwear

He added that All Star footwear had has over the years evolved to also appeal to the decent crowds such as professionals, executives, business people, wives, husband’s  and everyone including children.

Most notably he felt that the appetite for Trompies from emaSwati was very big and that they were undoubtedly bringing the right entertainment for them. Fun lovers will be glad to know that the organisers have taken much consideration on safety measures as they have chosen the most ideal venue in The Riders Ranch which hosts big events such as the Swazi Rally and have over the years a good record. He further added that they had also engaged with the Eswatini Royal Police, a private security company, Fire and Emergency Services as well as paramedics to cover the event.

They hope to attract a target group of more matured fun lovers as you can see from the line up even though they open to all other groups. He emphasised that although they may have tickets at the gate on the day, they would like to encourage fun lovers to purchase them early to avoid disappointment.

Other acts include: Gloria Bosman, African Roots, Xoli M, Sherperd Brothers, Mozaik, Sheejay Zoe and Wicked to name a few.
Tickets are available at all Galitos, Sausage Salon, Maxi’s outlets country wide and online from Ticket Pro.
