MBABANE - Where words fail music speaks. The SADC music festival, which was supposed to take place on September 7, has been postponed to October 5 at Ron-deh-Voo; at Sidwashini in Mbabane.

SADC is an acronym for Southern African Development Community and the show is themed ‘Uniting Africa through music.’
The theme comes at the back of the turmoil and unrest that is going on across the continent due to the xenophobic attacks.
When asked about what caused the postponement of the show, one of the organisers, Welile Dlamini, better known as ‘Welz Wethu’ in the social circles, said: “Due to xenophobic attacks, artists were not comfortable with travelling to other countries so we had to postpone.’’

The artists on the line-up are from countries such as Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho and Zimbabwe to mention a few.
Furthermore Dlamini, assured fans who were looking forward to the show that the event had not been cancelled but had been postponed.
When asked whether or not the line up would exclude the foreign acts, she emphatically said: “it is a SADC music festival so we cannot bring local artists only but we need the artists from other countries so definitely on the 5th of October it is happening.’’

Meanwhile, the show was supposed to take place at Run and fire garden court in Mbabane, however that will not be the case anymore as the organising committee felt that Ron-deh-Voo was more accessible and near to town.

Dlamini further revealed that tickets are still available at E80 per ticket and for more information people should go to the festival’s facebook page; SADC music festival.
