MBABANE - A different kind of Swazi Rally 2019! Bike lovers and riders will be thrilled to know that the Swazi Rally weekend is yet again upon us this coming weekend at Riders Ranch Sidvokodvo and top spinners from South Africa, Magesh, Lentja and convoy famously known Sam holdings had been added to the list of people that will grace the weekend.

Magesh Ndaba lives in the township of KwaThema in Johannesburg, South Africa where he is known as the King of Spin. He was 10 years old when he started driving; he would put four pillows on the car seat so he could see over the steering wheel.
On the other hand, Lefa Lentja Motloung, better known as just “Lentja” has also held titles as the King of Spin in South Africa.

Lastly, Sam Holdings, a Mpumalanga businessman may have already won the convoy competition at the Durban July that took place in July where he trended after posting videos and pictures of probably the longest convoy the Durban July has ever seen. The convoy boasted only top of the range cars and had ‘Sam’ written on their number plates.

Banele Dlamini, Swazi Rally Public Relations Officer revealed that these would be bringing cars worth over E30 Million with the top two spinners Magesh and Lentja spinning cars worth E7.5 Million on the day.

“We want people to experience a different kind of rally where they will get to enjoy the lifestyle that this kind of sport comes with. There will be bikers that will be riding BMW S 1000 RR worth E320 000 each,” added Dlamini.

Bikers from South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Mozambique and Swaziland are expected to throng country for a fun filled quality entertainment event.
Going back 24 years ago, in 1993, came the birth of Swazi Rally, the first Bikers’ event held at Somhlolo Stadium in Swaziland, which saw about 500 people in attendance. Since then, this has become an annual event which focuses on quality entertainment in Swaziland.

Initially, the local people hardly embraced the event as they were not well versed with the biking community. However, looking back today  locals have begun to acknowledge that the Swazi Rally  has been  attracting mainly  foreigners who thronged the Riders Ranch and as such, the event propelled our national revenue levels and businesses like hotels, lodges, restaurants,  were benefitting tremendously due to this event.
