A liSwati being a brand ambassador for a product which was established in 1872 - who would have thought?

Eswatini-born personality, model and MC Bianca has proven beyond measure that emaSwati are invincible.
Bianca has been revealed as the Vaseline ambassador and this follows her being made the brand ambassador for Vaseline Lip Therapy as she was considered to be influential to the fashion and beauty industry. Other ladies who she is a brand ambassador with include Linda Mtoba, Lerato Moloi, Nomalanga

‘The Flame’ Shozi, Mishqah Parthiphal, Tsakisani Mondlani, Silindile Ngema, Sinovuyo Mondiwa, Ashleigh Herman and Snikiwe Mhlongo. Vaseline is an American brand of petroleum jelly-based products owned by British-Dutch company Unilever. Products include plain petroleum jelly and a selection of skin creams, soaps, lotions, cleansers and deodorants.

Lights and cameras are not new to Bianca as she was also part of Eswatini music producer and DJ Tendaness’ ‘Jika’ which was officially dropped last year. She was also spotted on Kid Tini’s ‘Cinga’ video as the main act. Bianca made a big break into the entertainment industry after she was the MC at the internationally renowned HipNotik Festival.

STYLE embraced her big move and she embraced us back by giving us an exclusive interview on her successes.
Who is Bianca?

My full names are Bianca Ziphezinhle Coster. I was born and bred in Eswatini but currently reside in Johannesburg. I did my primary school at Hermann Gmeiner (SOS) then  went to Nelspruit for my high school at Mathews Phosa College. I recently graduated for my degree at the University of Johannesburg and I’m currently working towards attaining my honour’s degree in Industrial Sociology.

You and being a face model… How did that come about?
Hahahaha wow! I wouldn’t necessarily regard myself as a face model. I think I fall more into commercial modelling. I didn’t actually have a plan or strategy; I literally just posted selfies on my Instagram page and these caught the eyes of various brands. I get most of my recognition through my Instagram profile.

Vaseline brand ambassador, how did you score that?
The Vaseline team emailed me. At the beginning I thought it was a scam given that Vaseline is such a big brand. I then forwarded the email to my manager and he took it from there.

How do you feel about being embraced by such a huge brand?
At first I was shocked to be quite honest. It’s just a crazy feeling to know that people affiliated with such big brands actually go through my profile! I’m super grateful for the opportunity. It’s surreal...

Are there any other deals that you have clinched?
Yes, I did a campaign for Darling hair and also shot an advert for Stumbo lollipops, which was fun. In January, I partnered with Mr Price Home for a back to school campaign which I absolutely loved!

We have seen you in music videos... How has the experience been and how has it boosted your life?
The music video gained a lot of views which was great! It hasn’t changed my life that much, I just get a whole lot of stares on campus and sometimes people ask for pictures. It has also given me a bit of credit in the acting scene, which helps when auditioning.

To young beautiful women like you, what is your advice to them on life?
INDEPENDENCE! Aim for outmost independence! There is honestly no better feeling than indulging in the fruits of your own labour. Beauty fades, breasts sag, stomachs bulge so instead you ought to work towards bettering your character! Beauty will certainly get you in the room but character will keep you there. Also believe in something, be it God, spirits, energy or whatever. You can’t do this life thing just trusting in yourself alone; you need to believe in an entity larger than life. All my trust is in God and that’s what keeps me going in the midst of it all.

Where to from here?
Right now I’m completely focused on completing my honours degree. It has proven to be more challenging than expected so all my time is occupied by my studies. However, I do have some exiting new projects coming soon! Can’t really go into much detail now but stay tuned.
