MBABANE – The fun and fulfilling journey of entering Miss Eswatini has officially commenced.

This, as Pageants Eswatini President Catrien Potgieter, confirmed that they were already receiving back the pageant’s entry forms from aspiring contestants after they were officially opened a few weeks ago.

While expanding on the entry forms, she said the public was showing great interest towards the beauty contest as her office received back over five entry forms within a week after they were opened to the public.

However, Potgieter stated clearly that preparations for the prestigious ceremony were still at the preliminary stages.

She invited aspiring girls who wish to represent their regions to participate in the top-most pageant by visiting their offices and social media platforms to get more details on how to join the biggest beauty contest in the country.
According to Potgieter, the entry form costs E100 and those expected to join should be between the ages of 18 and 24. The aspiring contestants should not be married nor have tattoos inked on any part of their bodies.

“The journey has officially started and we are working hard to make sure we have a great event. The committee will soon meet all the stakeholders involved to forge a way forward as we are planning on things such as the time frame for the regional auditions and everything else involved. We are going to discuss the dates, regions to start with and the overall auditions when we meet,” she said.

She said the meeting with the stakeholders was imminent.
Moreover, Potgieter said companies were more than welcome to be involved in the competitions.
“We need more companies to be involved, we invite them to take this opportunity and partner with us,” she added.

In addition, she said her committee was also responsible for hosting the other pageants such as Miss Teen and Miss Cultural Heritage. She invited those interested in joining these pageants to get the entry forms as they were also opened.
For Miss Teen, the aspiring contestants should be between the ages of 14 and 17 while the Miss Cultural Heritage age restriction is similar to that of Miss Eswatini.

The closing dates for the application forms from the aspiring beauty queens and models will be announced at a later stage. The president also mentioned that the exact dates for the main ceremonies would be revealed as they were currently focused on scouting for the fitting contestants.

Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) CEO Stanley Dlamini encouraged aspiring beauty queens to join the beauty competitions and also invited companies to quickly take this opportunity of partnering with Pageants Eswatini.

“These competitions need everyone’s support and we invite the corporate world to be involved as this will help change the lives of the aspiring contestants for the better,” Dlamini said.

The current title-holder for Miss Eswatini is Nosipho Dlamini while the Miss Cultural Heritage beauty queen is Nokulunga Dvuba.
The current Miss Teen title-holder is Tyra Johnson.
