MBABANE – A trip to a South African music studio this week left gospel artist Mabandla Mthethwa and his wife Amazing Mthethwa stranded and grieving.

While the artistic couple was inside the Music is Life Studios in Johannesburg yesterday morning, a thief stole their white Honda Fit with some of their priced valuables inside. The studio belongs to a liSwati, one Mthobisi Ntshangase.
According to a distraught Mabandla, who is a professional keyboard player and manages Nonhle Mthethwa’s musical career, the car was stolen at around 10:10am, while parked next to Small Street, closer to where the music studio is situated.
He said the car had been parked there since their arrival on Monday night as they were busy with producing Amazing’s upcoming album.

The sorrowful artist said the car was not parked inside the protected parking lot reserved for tenants and visitors who come for any dealings inside the building. He did not state why the car was not parked inside the protected parking lot.
Mabandla said he was still shocked and heart-broken by the unexpected turn of events.
“We left on Monday with the intention of coming back the same day but we had to extend out stay as the producer was still working on the album. The car was still there in the morning until when we shockingly discovered that it was stolen just after 10am,” he related the sad ordeal.

The white sedan was branded with Nonhle’s new album sleeve on its body.
The artist said they were still going to open a case of car theft with the South African police. He said they had not yet reported the matter to the police as they were still shell-shocked.
Pastor Vusi Shiba, who is among the artists who were informed of the theft by Mabandla, expressed his shock and words of comfort to the Mthethwa family.

“May they be strong while dealing with this;it is saddening to lose a car in this manner. Johannesburg is notorious for such, I pray the police find the car as soon as possible,” he said.
ACASWA Convener Mathokoza Mtetwa also expressed his shock and wished the Mthethwa family safety as they continue  to search  for the car and when they travel back home.

Amazing and Nonhle had scheduled auditions set to take place this coming Saturday in Manzini. This was in preparation for the launch of the album which featured Faith Khanyile from Glory of the Last Days. The auditions were scheduled to start from 10am until 2pm.
