MBABANE – What to do, when to do it and how to do it is fundamental when attending a humongous event!

With just a day left to  the MTN BUSHFIRE 2019, its time to get ready and know what to do, what to have and what to avoid.
The MTN BUSHFIRE team released a toolkit yesterday which is fundamental to follow in order not to find oneself on the wrong side of the law.  Festival goers were advised to ensure that they had their tickets secured before they arrived as tickets are already sold out and there are no tickets that will be available at the gate. This applies to day tickets as well as full festival passes.

Also, it was highlighted that there would be no camping tickets available on site as these were also all completely sold out.
House on Fire Communications  officer Wandile Dlamini reminded festival goers that with over 29 000  people set to attend the festival this results in to heavy traffic leading to the country.

consider

“People should consider using one of the lower volume border posts such as the Sandlane/ Nerston Border post. It is worth noting that the other border posts operate for shorter hours,” said Dlamini.
All of Eswatini’s border posts are open seven days a week and festival goers were advised to arrive on Thursday or early Friday morning if they were to use the Oshoek Border Gate.
Also, Dlamini highlighted that attendees may be required to produce their identification to enter the event and this goes for original ID Cards/Books, Driver’s license cards and/or passports.

sustainability

MTN BUSHFIRE also encouraged all guests to support the #BRINGYOURFIRE theme which advocates towards sustainability and reducing the festival’s carbon footprint. To further reduce carbon footprint – this year the festival is paperless. For the second time this year, MTN Bushfire, including the campsite, will be cashless. Festival goers’ access armbands will enable them to charge up with cash or credit cards throughout the festival venue. ATM’s are available on festival grounds and accept MasterCard and VISA cards.  It is possible to load ones account prior to arriving at MTN BUSHFIRE and this information is available on howler.co.za

Attendees staying offsite are requested to have a designated driver as drinking and driving is taken very seriously in the in country and road blocks are common.
MTN BUSHFIRE’s Park and Ride system is available even this year and it is powered by Motor Vehicle Accident fund and Total. This system offers shuttles to and from the festival site and various pick-up and drop-off points.

Dlamini said this system would commence on May 26 and run for the duration of the festival, operating along the Mbabane- Malkerns- Manzini corridor.
